New, improved, recycling service from your home

These new web pages will explain how to recycle from 30 September, but in the meantime please use the existing services. Please check back for updates as we continue to develop these pages.

New recycling collections:

For some years now, residents have been asking us to collect more materials for recycling from home, so from 30 September this year, we will be introducing new collections as below:

  • Separate Food Waste
  • Glass, Plastics, & Cans
  • Paper and Card / Cardboard
  • Textiles, Batteries and small electrical items (WEEE)
  • Opt-In chargeable fortnightly garden waste collections in new brown bin. We are delivering the new brown bins in several phases. This is to ensure that everyone who took advantage of the “early bird” discount gets their bin before collections start from the end of September. All "early bird" deliveries are due by the middle of September. Please use this missed bin delivery form if you believe your delivery has been missed or if you have received less bins than ordered.

Promotions to date

We have publicised this information in a number of ways and more information will follow during the summer.

  • A promotional booklet was distributed to all homes in the borough by Urbaser in late February.
  • A second leaflet was distributed with your Council Tax bill.
  • We are holding a number of roadshows where you can talk to the team about the changes
